A good way to meet people online
I’ve recently been experimenting with a lot of Web 2.0 technologies and ways that they might allow us to meet more people online. Social Networking is a relatively new online phenomenon that is creating incredible opportunities for people to connect with existing and new friends. Along these lines, I have started using a tool that is exposing me to a whole new world of qualified prospects. It’s a great little social networking tool called Twitter.
Twitter is considered a “micro-blogging” tool. What the heck is a micro-blog? Well it’s a way for you to write very short posts “micro blog posts” (140 characters max) about what you’re doing and those posts will be seen by everyone that’s “following” you on twitter.
You could think of a “follower” as someone that has “subscribed” to your posts. Someone that cares about what you’re doing. I know it sounds crazy. When I first heard about this, I thought “who in the world would take time out of their busy life to read what other people are doing?”. Well I was blown away to find out just how many people do read these posts and write their own posts. It’s a whole other world and let me tell you the people that use Twitter and other social networking tools like it, have higher IQ’s and higher net-worths than most of the people out there. These are people for the most part that are “in the know” and well connected and networked. These are perfect prospects for our business.
